The window

A window is time under the shoes, not a cue in the mirror.

We measure three stamps: trail-foot peak, the first tick the lead side is allowed to own, and the last tick the trail side may still argue. Everything between those stamps is the window. Outside it, hardware talk is noise.

College Station players arrive with vocabulary borrowed from television: load, explode, post. Those words do not have timestamps. Hang Time only keeps timestamps. If trail pressure has not begun decaying by the tick Tovah marked, we do not discuss loft. If lead pressure has not crossed 55 percent by the tick Harlan marked, we do not discuss a heavier head.

The plates sit on a short run of Texas Avenue, Suite 5, not on a stadium field. Kyle Field wind is a story people tell in the waiting chair. The plates do not hear it. They hear rubber, humidity, and whether a spike is still parked on the trail heel.

A window can be wide in February and narrow in June. That is not a personality change. That is Brazos clay holding a shoe a tenth longer. We rewrite the window for the month you actually play, then we ask whether the clubs in the bag can live inside it.

People ask whether this is a teaching studio. It is not. We will send you down the street for a lesson if the motion cannot physically enter the window. We will not pretend a new 7-wood repairs a trail foot that never leaves.
